Executive Team Workshops.

"Good teams become great ones when the members trust each other enough to surrender the 'Me' for the 'We'"

- Phil Jackson

Even with the greatest strategy and best talent, executive teams can fail to deliver desired results. Often, it is a lack of alignment, hidden agendas, interpersonal difficulties, lack of trust or simply self-oriented behavior among members, that derail the executive team. As a result of this friction there are huge coordination losses, conflicting messages to the organization, stalling initiatives, a resulting lack of motivation and an erosion of culture.

Conversely, great teams always have an element of surrendering the selves of their individual members to something larger, a vision and purpose that they all care about deeply. Self-transcendence in other words is crucial to highly effective leadership teams.

In working with teams, it is important to start with the status quo: What is currently working? What is not? And what is missing? It is critical that each leader feels heard and that the team as a whole gets an accurate (and sometimes painful) sense of where their team is at.

In working together we develop a new and open way to talk about conflicts and differences, we start to give each other frank feedback, but also ensure we create a culture of appreciation. We further align on key team values and develop a shared inspring vision. Based on this vision we develop clear, tangible and measurable take-aways. Top-team workshops always have an initial interview phase in which we speak individually with each member of the team to identify the most pressing challenges and biggest opportunities.

They then feed into usually a 1.5-2 day workshop. Depending on the nature of the work with the team we conduct one or more follow-up workshops. In most cases we support these workshops with one-on-one or small-group coaching.
